3月22日：美国波音公司做出回应

（1）All-out search and rescue efforts were underway on Monday after a China Eastern Airlines aircraft crashed.No report on casualties was available as of press time.

周一下午，中国东航客机坠毁后，政府正在全力展开搜救工作。目前没有伤亡信息。

（2）"As of the end of February, China's civil aviation record for safety stood for 138 months, handling 5.11 billion passenger trips safely," Wu Shijie, deputy director of the administration's safety office, told a monthly routine news conference last week. According to data from flight radar 24, a global flight tracking service, the plane reached a cruise altitude of nearly 9,000 meters shortly after departing from Kunming at 1:11 pm. It plunged nearly 8,000 meters in 3 minutes at 2:19 pm and crashed on the mountain.

民航局安全办公室副主任吴世杰，上周接受月刊采访时表示，“二月底，中国民航安全记录达138月，安全运输了51.1亿乘客。”根据当时的航空雷达数据，该飞机下午1点11分从昆明起飞，当时飞行高度是9000米，2点19分以后，飞机在最后三分钟极速下降到1000米，然后在山上坠毁。

Boeing Chief Executive Dave Calhoun said in a letter on Monday that the planemaker has offered the full support of its technical experts to the investigation led by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. "We are deeply saddened by the news of the accident involving a China Eastern Airlines 737-800 airplane. The thoughts of all of us at Boeing are with the passengers and crew members on Flight MU 5735, as well as their families and loved ones," Calhoun added.

失事飞机是波音737－800客机，机龄7年，是东航使用最广的飞机型号。事故之后，东航将所有同型号飞机全部停用，东航在港的股票也下跌了，从8%下跌到6.46%，在美的股票也严重下跌。波音公司CEO戴夫·科赫表示，飞机制造厂也会加入此次调查，并全力支持。“我们与遇难者是感同身受的，在此我们表示对遇难者家属的深切遗憾。”

3月23日：没发现幸存者

（4）No survivors have been found, local authorities said on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, more than 2,000 search and rescue workers intensified efforts to recover the aircraft's two black boxes, or flight data recorders, to investigate the cause of the tragedy.Zhu Tao, director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China's Aviation Safety Office, said at the news conference that the aircraft was severely damaged, which poses a huge challenge to the investigation of the cause of the crash."We are still at the preliminary stage of the investigation, so we cannot make any judgment. The key task now is to locate the two black boxes. We will immediately inform the public when the cause is confirmed."Li, who was working nearby on the mobile communication network, said, "I then rushed to the site with my colleagues and saw the aircraft debris, much of which was in small pieces. It was scattered all over the mountains. The biggest piece I saw was part of a wing with China Eastern's logo."

（5）A flight recorder is an electronic recording device placed in an aircraft for the purpose of facilitating the investigation of aviation accidents and incidents. Flight recorders are also known by the misnomer black box—they are, in fact, painted bright orange in color to aid in their recovery after accidents.They are compulsory on any commercial flight or corporate jet, and are usually kept in the tail of an aircraft, where they are more likely to survive a crash. This box is made of Titanium metal and is enclosed in a Titanium box which gives it the strength to withstand any shock if it falls in the sea or falls from the height.

（6）A black box of the China Eastern Airlines passenger plane that crashed Monday afternoon has been recovered. Some human remains and parts of the wreckage of the China Eastern Airlines passenger plane that crashed into a mountain in Guangxi on Monday have been recovered at the crash site, an official told a press briefing on Wednesday.The wreckage and human remains have been handed over to the investigation team, said Zheng Xi, head of the fire brigade of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, adding that rescuers from the brigade had covered a search area of 46,000 square meters by 7 pm Wednesday.The exterior of the black box from the crashed plane recovered on Wednesday was severely damaged, and it was initially believed as the cockpit voice recorder, said Zhu Tao.

3月24日：雨中进行搜救

（7）It was found under surface soil 20 meters southeast of the point of impact at about 4:30 pm on Wednesday, Zhu Tao. A preliminary examination at the crash site showed the black box's exterior to be severely damaged, Zhu said."Its data storage unit is intact but with damage. " he said, adding that it has been sent to Beijing for decoding, which may take some time depending on the severity of the damage.Pieces of the plane's wreckage and some human tissue were recovered at the crash site. They have been handed over to the investigation team.

（8）Sun Shiying, chairman of China Eastern's Yunnan branch, said at the same news conference that the pilot and two co-pilots were in good health and qualified to fly the aircraft.The pilot was hired as captain of the Boeing 737 in January 2018. He had 6,709 flight hours' experience. The first co-pilot had 31,769 flight hours and the second co-pilot 556 flight hours, Sun said."In addition, the performance of the three pilots had been good in the past and their families were also harmonious," Sun added. "Also, the plane met all the maintenance requirements before takeoff."

（9）Rescuers have been braving the rain to clear landslide debris and waterlogging while continuing the search and rescue work. It has been raining continuously since Wednesday evening at the crash site.The weather is expected to continue to adversely affect the rescue work.Human remains and 21 items of victims' personal belongings have been found amid 183 pieces of wreckage at the crash site of China Eastern Airlines MU5735 as of 4:30 pm Thursday.Remains of plane mainly scattered within radius of 30 meters, depth of 20 meters. 

与此同时，搜救组依然冒着大雨在进行搜救工作，这场雨从周三开始就没停过，给搜救工作带来巨大影响。在现场183个残骸中，发现了人体组织和21个私人物品，飞机碎片埋在深约20米的地下，直径60米。
