威尔史密斯发道歉信，这个表达真不错！

演员 Will Smith 威尔·史密斯在3月27日的奥斯卡颁奖典礼上扇了喜剧人 Chris Rock 一耳光（关于这件事的起因Momo有写了一篇公众号，请戳），昨天，Will Smith 发了一封公开道歉信。

Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable andinexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.
I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.
I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.

otherwiseadv. in different circumstances 可以理解为“本应该是”，官方给出的翻译是：
“我的行为让大家本该美好的经历染上了污点”
这种用法在 Chicago Tribune 上也有出现过：

1. otherwise 最常见的意思是 if not，意思是“否则；要不然”

2. in a different way 以不同方式
